Egypt Receives Extensive Export Orders for ‘Egyptian iPad’; Manufactures First Car Soon

Egypt’s Minister of Military Production Lt. Gen. Reda Mahmoud Hafez, said that although his ministry has received several partnership offers from a number of international car manufacturers, the name of the State which will actually help build and produce Egyptian cars is yet to be decided.

"There are genuine offers from several countries, such as China, Turkey, Malaysia, France and India, willing to contribute to the production of an Egyptian car in Nasr automobile company in Cairo. We will choose the best deal that adds technological advantage to the Egyptian industry."

As for the production of Egypt’s first Tablet PC, Hafez revealed that the first batch of the ‘Egyptian iPad’ (called Einar) has been completed.

"The Ministry has received foreign orders from several countries like Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia for great quantities of the first Egyptian educational portable device.

"There are also many domestic orders, from various establishments like the Pharmacists Syndicate, the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and the Ministry of Communications, as well as orders for the manufacture of a million units for the Ministry of Education, for use by schoolchildren, to free them from heavy school bags and school books that strain students’ shoulders. The device allows easy updates to information in accordance with required educational strategies. This should help simplify the development of education and syllabuses."
