Egyptian Military Mulls Documents Belonging to Dissolved Security Apparatus

 Judge Mohamed Shawky Fathi assigned by the Justice Minister in case of storming the headquarters of the secret police throughout the country, has decided Egypt’s military should form a committee to look into documents, papers and secret files that were kept on citizens, to indicate the agency’s officers are widely violated human rights.

 He calls upon all citizens to surrender the possession of documents and papers belonging to the State Security apparatus to the competent authorities immediately for necessary action to be taken.

 Judge Shawki said the Committee will start work immediately once the ruling Supreme Military Council passes a resolution on its members.

 Earlier, people handed over thousands of documents taken from the SSI HQ to the office of the Attorney General. The papers were seized by the military and will be subjected to further review, while the investigation is still ongoing on some officers who destroyed papers and concealed secret files to prevent them from falling into the hands of demonstrators.
