Egyptian Ministry of Tourism Seeks to Assure and Attract Tourists with Novel Initiatives

In a press statement quoted by the Egyptian Freedom and Justice newspaper, Dr. Adla Ragab, Economic Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, said: "The Ministry has adopted a special strategy to restore tourist confidence in Egypt’s security situation. Efforts in this regard include visits by Hisham Zaazou, Minister of Tourism, to various other countries, attending important tourism fairs and events – most notably, the Dubai Tourism Fair, which will be held at the beginning of May 2013.
"The Ministry is working on the promotion of various types of tourism through an agreement with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide direct flights from beach tourism cities to cultural cities like Luxor and Aswan, to encourage tourists to visit both types of destinations, not only beach cities, for example."
Dr. Adla Ragab affirms that, "I’m sure Egypt will see an increase in tourist numbers in coming months, once the false image portrayed by hostile media falls off. Tourists love Egypt, but they need a greater sense of security and stability in our homeland.
"The Ministry of Tourism has signed a protocol with the Ministry of Communications for broadcasting live images from various tourist destinations in Egypt, which will help allay tourists’ worries, as they see others visit and enjoy Egypt without any problems."
