Egyptians Abroad Launch International Movement to Support Democracy in Egypt

A number of Egyptian expatriates launched a movement under the name ‘Egyptians Abroad for Democracy’ supporting democracy in Egypt.
On Thursday (July 18), they held a press conference in Rabaa Al-Adaweya conference hall, in Cairo, to affirm their support for legitimacy and the democratically elected President Mohammed Morsi.
Participants came from several countries, including the US, UK, Holland and Turkey. These activists represent the core of an international movement to support the democratic path in Egypt, and to reject the military coup.
Participants agreed to organize a number of activities in future to support the will of the Egyptian people, such as protesting in front of ministries of foreign affairs, embassies, EU headquarters, in addition to sending letters to international organizations.
The main goal is to show refusal of the military coup, uncover plots to annul popular will, and support constitutional and legal legitimacy in Egypt.
