El-Erian: The People Will No Longer Tolerate Police Violence
Dr. Essam el Erian, Deputy FJP Chairman, stressed that civil rights violations by falling regime and it’s police force prior to the January 25 revolution will no longer be tolerated after the revolution.
Speaking to thousands of supporters at FJP meeting in Sharqeya, el-Erian stressed that the nation abandoned its apathy and will stand up for their rights, adding that no longer will the police brutalize the very people they are sworn to serve and protect and pay their salaries.
El Erian questioned how could the former authority which bore ultimate responsibility for the actions of the police, expect citizens to respect the law if the law did not respect them!
The FJP Deputy Chairman reiterated that the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) wants to create a true democracy in Egypt, where political participation is available to all Egyptians; Muslim and Copts, men and women, all have equal rights.
