El-Shater’s family calls for his immediate release
El-Shater who was transferred to military tribunals after being acquitted by civilian courts on charges which were “groundless and politically motivated is currently serving a harsh 7 year sentence despite, the courts’ verdict which had praised him as a respectable businessman and engineer well-known for his moderation and work in serving his country.
In a statement to “Ikhwanweb” Alzahraa ascertained that her father’s health has “taken a turn for the worse” and his heart condition has worsened adding that he “Isn’t getting any younger”. In addition to this he is suffering numerous ailments including high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney stones and thyroid gland
El-Shater’s family called for his immediate and unconditional release since his health condition was deteriorating; stressing that his detention and that of his companions is a clear violation of human rights
