Erian: Kandil Government Must Be Given Opportunity to Prove Excellence

Dr. Essam El-Erian, Acting Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), stressed that Dr. Hisham Kandil’s new Cabinet should be given full opportunity to accomplish its vital tasks, and to address its many challenges, not least solving the problem of the disbanded parliament and the completion of the constitution-drafting process.

"Evidently, this is a non-partisan government. It may well achieve what previous governments failed to accomplish due to the ambiguity and confusion of the transitional phase. The President takes responsibility for the selection of government and ministers.

"I do hope the new government, led by Dr. Kandil, will succeed in solving the pressing problems that have for long exhausted Egyptian citizens, away from score-settling and political maneuvering".

Meanwhile, Justice Zakaria Abdul-Aziz, former head of the Judges Club, lauded Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Kandil’s new government.

In a statement, Abdul-Aziz pointed that the shape of the new Cabinet, announced Thursday, in itself confirms that Mohamed Morsi is certainly President for all Egyptians, and that he has not excluded anyone in the selection process.

"The only criterion that will determine whether these newly-appointed ministers will remain in office is efficiency and real loyalty to the January 25 revolution, made by people of all denominations, who sacrificed their very own men and women – honorable martyrs for freedom, democracy, dignity and justice."
