Erian: All Egyptian Blood Sacred; Killers Must Be Brought to Justice without Delay

In a press statement, Dr. Essam El-Erian, Vice Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), said: "All Egyptian blood is sacred – Muslim, Christian, women, Sunni, Shiite, civilian, military or police – it is all forbidden.

"Anyone who utters a single word accusing a Muslim of being an infidel, inciting bloodshed, or getting involved in hate speech against any official or citizen, is a partner in a heinous crime."

Dr. Erian further said, "Egypt will never slide into a civil war, sectarian strife or political fights fueled by stolen money.

"Egypt’s God will save and protect it; Egypt’s army is a shield and sword that will defend it."

He pointed that, "Egypt’s people are smart and alert. They know their enemy, who killed more than seventy thousands of their sons and buried them alive in the sands of the Sinai, and their enemy’s strategic ally, who killed one thousand and four-hundred Egyptians in the Red Sea ferry disaster, and before them murdered many in prisons in cold blood.

"I call on everyone to condemn the killing of Sheikh Hassan Shihata and his followers in Abu-Muslim, and before them the Gamaa Islamiya brother in Fayoum, the Salafist Call and Nour Party brother in Mahalla Al-Kubra, the nine Muslim Brotherhood martyrs outside Itehadia Presidential Palace, and those who fell before that in Mohamed Mahmoud Street, outside the TV building in Maspero, around the Cabinet building and in the Abbasseya clashes."

"We do not differentiate between any of them. They are all Egyptians and their blood is sacred. All killers must be brought to justice without discrimination, without delay."
