Erian Condemns Attacks on Muslim Brotherhood, Freedom and Justice Party Headquarters
Dr. Essam El-Erian, Vice-Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), condemned the heinous bullying thinly disguised as political activity and attacks on the Muslim Brotherhood and the FJP offices in several provinces across Egypt.
He affirmed that there was an attack on FJP headquarters in Alexandria. The building was partly gutted in the arson attacks. There were also attempts to break in and smash up the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood in Tanta and Mahalla, and clashes between thugs and Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Mahalla. A number of citizens also repelled an attack on the FJP’s office there. Then, clashes erupted and led to casualties on both sides.
Erian further added, "Aggressors will not escape justice, and security services will account for their failures".
There were also reports of frustrated attempts to attack the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood in Beheira and Suez, and the presence of thugs at these sites was an established fact.
