EU: We are not happy with Israeli practices in Jerusalem, Gaza

The Czech foreign minister, Karel Schwarzenberg, whose country is currently heading the European Union said that the EU was not happy with certain Israeli practices.

Czech daily Lidové Noviny quoted the chief diplomat as saying “We are not happy with some of the steps of the Israeli government, namely construction works close to Jerusalem but also access to Gaza, which is today very limited.”

Schwarzenberg ruled out a summit meeting in the near future between Israel and the EU before the Czech chairmanship of the EU ended by next June, describing such a possibility as a disappointment for him.
