Fadwa: We have full confidence in Palestinians negotiating Shalit deal
Fadwa Al-Barghouthi, the wife of detained Fatah leader Marwan Al-Barghouthi, has stressed that she was fully confident of the skill of the Palestinian party negotiating the prisoners’ swap deal, referring to Hamas and other factions holding the Israeli captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
Fadwa told the PIC on Wednesday evening that she was confident the Palestinian party negotiating the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails in return for Shalit was putting her husband at the top of the list.
She belittled news statements by Israeli leaders that her husband was not on the list of the Palestinian prisoners to be freed in return for Shalit.
The Palestinian people are proud of the resistance’s achievement and its ability to capture Shalit and run the swap deal with ingenuity, she said, adding that the Palestinians are looking forward to an honorable deal in which old serving prisoners, women and leaders are released.
Meanwhile, an American newspaper said that the exchange deal, when implemented, would boost the popularity of Hamas, a thing that bothers the USA and Israel.
The Washington Times said that the release of those prisoners especially Marwan Al-Barghouthi would negatively affect the popularity of Mahmoud Abbas.
