First Two “Break Gaza Siege” Convoys Head For Borders

Two convoys headed for the Egyptian borders on Wednesday September 10, 2008 in the framework of the “Popular Campaign to lift the siege on Gaza” launched by Muslim Brotherhood and opposition forces to alleviate the tough conditions in the Gaza strip by offering humanitarian and medical aid.


First convoy was scheduled to move at 6:00am on Wednesday from in front of the headquarters of Medical Syndicate in Cairo. The convoy is organized by both the Labor Party and People”s Committee to Lift the Siege on Gaza; where it is scheduled that more than 180 persons will participate in this convoy, in addition to several cars loaded by Foodstuffs and medicines to help the beleaguered people of Gaza.


The second convoy is scheduled to be launched at 1:00 pm from in front of Medical Syndicate after holding a press conference at 12:00 pm.


It is scheduled that a group of MB and independent MPs will participate in the convoy, in addition to 25 judges and about 150 persons united in the solidarity, and it will include five trucks loaded with humanitarian, medical and food aids.
