FJP: ‘No to Violence’ Million-Man Rally Highlights Differences between Islamists, NSF, Rebel
In a press statement, Dr. Murad Ali, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)’s media adviser, said: "The ‘No to Violence’ million-man rally highlighted the huge differences between ‘Islamists’ on the one side and the National Salvation Front (NSF) and Rebel movement on the other.
"I am not just talking in terms of numbers of protesters – which, incidentally, reaffirmed the huge Egyptian street support for Islamic rule – I’m talking about the ability to organize, about commitment to ethics, about the civilized overall picture."
The FJP’s media adviser added that, "NSF and Rebel demonstrations are ever characterized by violence, vandalism, Molotov bombs, chaos and confusion, where you see thugs and hired street children and you hear the most obscene insults and curse words, and where sexual harassment of girls is rife and shops are torched, cars are smashed up and people are prevented from going to their places of work.
"After NSF or Rebel demonstrations, they leave behind enormous devastation, in addition to obscenities written on the walls, without regard for the sanctity or respect for people’s property, as if they’re intent on showing off their barbarism, savagery and anarchism. Needless to say, the opposite is true in Islamists’ demonstrations – in every respect."
