FJP Condemns Deadly Khossos Clashes; Forms Delegation to Resolve Crisis
Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) followed with great concern new attempts to provoke sectarian strife in Khossos neighborhood (in Qaliubiya, north of Cairo) on Friday evening. The FJP was deeply saddened by news of deaths and injuries in these unfortunate events, regardless of the victims’ religion, Muslims or Christians.
The FJP reiterates its strong condemnation of any attempts to cause division and strife among factions of the Egyptian people, and to instigate crises so as to carry out criminal schemes and drag the country into chaos and a cycle of strife and violence.
The FJP is confident that the Egyptian people are fully alert and aware of these attempts, which always fail miserably at the feet of this great people, with the solidarity and unity it shows in the face of such futile acts.
The FJP urges all relevant State authorities to reveal the truth of these schemes, punish plotters, and address this threat to the security of citizens and property. The FJP calls on Egypt’s national and religious symbols to do their part to contain such crises, defuse current tensions in the Egyptian street, and immediately intervene to preserve the unity of the great people of this dear homeland.
Furthermore, the FJP has decided to send a delegation from its Qaliubiya secretariat to visit Khossos area and meet with all parties involved in the dispute so as to resolve the crisis.
