FJP Receives British Ambassador in Cairo
Dr. Mohamed Morsi, Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), and Dr. Mohamed Saad El Katatny, FJP’s Secretaray General, received James Watt, British Ambassador to Cairo today 4 December 2011 at the FJP’s headquarters in Cairo.
The British ambassador praised the beginning of democracy in Egypt and the parliamentary elections which is an important political event. he pointed out that it was carried out in a good, peaceful and organized way. He ascertained that the government of his country will be dealing with any elected government in Egypt, as long as it was the people’s choice.
Watt added that the British government supports the Egyptian-British relations by supporting the economy, counter corruption programs, education and improving educational methods in Egypt.
Dr. Mohamed Morsy stressed that the elections are still in its first phase and he expects more people to vote in the coming phases. Dr. Morsi also commented on the new constitution which is being prepared following the parliamentary elections saying that it will guarantee the rights of all Egyptians regardless of their views, belief, color or sex.
