The statment refused to drag the party into a personal matter concerning Morsi’ kids, in an attempt to distract its leadership away from preparations underway for the upcoming elections

“Egypt is currently facing critical times and it is more important that we focus on achieving the revolution’s objectives, and hold elections as scheduled to beging rebuilding state institutions and restoring stability in the country”

Dr. Farid Ismail, president of FJP chapter in Sharqia explained that Morsi’s sons Ahmed and Amr were in their car with their mother waiting for the traffic light to turn green when an argument with traffic officer Mohamed Abd Allah Foad occurred.

The quarrel escalated as the officer swore at them, using blasphemous terms which enraged both. The police officer then assaulted and injured them

Dr. Mohamed Morsi , who arrived at the scene later, attempted to settle the situation and demanding the law be upheld if his sons or the officers comitted any wrongdoing and that no one is above the law. Morsi indicated that his sons will be willing to drop any charges against the officers in order to resolve the situation.
