FM Minister: Arab Economic Summit Urged Tackling of Intervention in Arab Affairs

"Arab foreign ministers will discuss at the preparatory meetings for the 2nd Economic and Social Arab Summit at Sharm El-Sheikh, a proposal submitted by Egypt and Arab League chief Amr Moussa, demanding the summit issue a statement regarding ‘attempts by Western and European powers to meddle in Egyptian and Arab affairs,’" the Egyptian Foreign Affairs minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said on Tuesday said.

"Tunisian Foreign Minister Kamal Morgan briefed his colleagues at a closed-door consultative meeting on the latest developments in his country," Abul-Gheit said, adding that Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki also informed them about efforts to revive the peace process and Palestinians resorting to the UN Security Council. He also proposed a call for a meeting between the quartet and Arab Peace Initiative Follow-up Committee, but timing is inappropriate to the Arab ministers.
