Football Star Abu-Treika: President Decrees Revolutionary; Bring Hope
Captain Mohamed Abu-Treika, international soccer player and Egyptian star, affirmed that President Mohamed Morsi’s Decrees, sacking Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud, the Public Prosecutor appointed by the former regime, and announcing a new constitutional declaration, are revolutionary decrees that echo the pulse of the Egyptian street and bring hope for the future.
In a televised interview, Abu-Treika urged all parties to open a new page, adding: "These Decrees are a new beginning for national harmony that should help Egypt stand steadfast on its feet.
"We inherited a heavy legacy of corruption and trouble. We must rebuild everything, especially legislative, judicial and executive institutions."
