For the First Time El-Baradei Harrassed at Cairo Airport
Egypt’s former UN nuclear watchdog, Chief Mohamed El-Baradei was subject to harrassment by security officers at Cairo Airport as soon as he arrived yesterday. He was stopped by officials while his name was being checked in the wanted person’s list.
His passport was checked to know the countries he had visited while he was away from Egypt.
El-Baradei usually leaves from the VIP Lounge, which is a paid service, although he won the Collar of the Nile and can use this service for free, which facilitates his entry and exit of airports.
However, a security officer told El-Baradei that he alone was welcoming him. A female staff member from the airline crew apologized to El-Baradei, saying that this only happens for security reasons.
