For the first time in Time in The Arab world UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Opinion and expression To Lecture At The Journalists Syndicate in Cairo Thursday, January 13th,2011
The Arabic Affairs Committee of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate in collaboration with the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information organizes a meeting with Mr. Frank La Rue, UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of opinion and expression. This meeting is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world
Mr. La Rue will be giving a lecture on the situation of freedom of opinion and expression and Internet freedom. He will also address the significance of these rights and the features of dealing with them.
The meeting will be held at the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate on Thursday January 13th , 2011, at 5:00 pm .
The meeting will be moderated by Mr. Gamal Fahmy, Secretary of the Committee of Arabic Affairs at the Journalist Syndicate and presented by Mr. Gamal Eid, Executive Director of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information.
Following the lecture of the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Opinion and Expression, there will be an open discussion with journalists, bloggers and activists . Attending the meeting as well, is a group of activists and experts concerned with the situation of freedom of opinion and expression in Egypt and the Arab world.
