Former MB MP: Arbitrary Arrests against Brothers Doomed to Failure

Dr. Farid Ismail, former member of the MB Parliamentary bloc, has emphasized that the arbitrary detention pursued by the government of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) against the Brotherhood are doomed to failure.

State Security Forces on Sunday raided the headquarters of the MB parliamentary bloc in Sharkia and arrested all its members as personal computers and hundreds of books were seized. Member of the MB Executive Bureau, Mohi Hamid, was among those arrested.

In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Ismail maintained that the ruling NDP, following blatant ballot rigging results, prosecutes the MB and opposition parties in order to hide their own crimes that were committed against the people’s will.

Ismail noted that since more than 70 years the Brothers have faced difficult times by different Egyptian Governments; yet, they will continue their peaceful struggle and their popularity is increasing day by day.

Ismail called on the people of the free world to monitor methods pursued by the ruling NDP that violates the most basic rights of freedom of opinion and expression.
