Fraud and intransparent student body elections evident in all of the Egyptian universities.
Universities and faculties all over Egypt witnessed the unjust measures where students of the MB were denied the opportunity to withdraw applications for nomination in the students body election.
Chaos and havoc took place as students demonstrated their objection to the injustices and fights broke out among students and some injuries were inflicted. Injured students were transferred to emergency rooms in the University hospitals.
Banners were hung congratulating certain students on their win despite allegations by the Muslim Brotherhood students who confirmed that no former date was set for elections or for the withdrawal of or handing in of nominations for candidacy. Students objected to the unreasonable measures practiced by the Youth welfare office where MB students were denied numbers to withdraw application while others were unduly handed theirs. It seems that their was evidence of conspiracy denying certain students namely the MB students from being involved in elections.
Despite procedures taken by the University’s administration the MB students announced that nothing would deter them from entering any student activities since the freedom of rights is a right not a privilege which nobody has the right to deny, demonstrating resilience and will power which is necessary if violation of freedom is to be overcome and freedom of expression is to be attained.
