Free Gaza intends to launch its eighth sea trip to help Gaza people
The Free Gaza movement announced its intention to set sail on its eighth mission to break the unjust Israeli siege and mass punishment of 1.5 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, noting that head of the US green party Cynthia McKinney would participate in this voyage.
Along with McKinney, 36 others will participate in the Free Gaza convoy carrying modest loads of building supplies such as cement as a prelude to larger shipments the Free Gaza movement expects to take throughout the summer.
“Especially after operation cast lead, I want to go to Gaza, and if I am lucky, one day, I will also get to visit a free Palestine,” McKinney, the Green Party nominee in the 2008 presidential election, said.
Mairead Maguire, the Nobel Peace Prize winner from Ireland will be also a member of the voyage.
“I am going to Gaza to show my love and support for the people of Gaza who continue to suffer under Israeli siege and occupation, yet whose spirit of nonviolent resistance inspires all who believe in equality, freedom and justice,” Maguire stated.
