Freedom and Justice Leader Condemns Hospital Closures, Death of Central Cairo Patients

Ibrahim Dawood, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Secretary in Cairo, condemned closure of the top three busiest hospitals in central Cairo, namely: Al-Hussein University Hospital, Al-Sayed Galal Hospital, and Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital, where emergency rooms were closed.

Dawood added that the closure of emergency rooms in the three main hospitals has led to the death of a large number of innocent patients who could not afford to go to private hospitals.

The FJP Secretary pointed that the closure of the three hospitals was by orders from hospital managers, after deliberate absence of security by authorities, which resulted in a large number of assaults including, beating and robbery, against doctors working inside the hospitals. Medical equipment was also stolen in some incidents.

Dawood affirmed that he has submitted a report to the FJP secretariat to take necessary action to deal with the crisis. He added that the deliberate absence of security was intended to thwart the President’s Nahda (Renaissance) campaign, which the FJP and its members are endeavoring to make a success.

The FJP Secretary warned that these incidents affect the homeland’s internal security, and described them as acts of terror against the millions of people who freely voted for Egypt’s new President.

Dawood further warned off all those who attempt to sabotage and destroy the country, or to terrorize citizens, and vowed to bring together the energies of the FJP’s youth to face up to such subversive acts.
