Freedom and Justice Party: Egypt Suppression Forced Revolutionary Council Launch Abroad
Dr Abdel-Mawgoud Dardery, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader, said the Egyptian Revolutionary Council (ERC) had to be established abroad only because of state repression and terror in Egypt, where the military junta muzzles dissenting voices.

In a press statement, Dr Dardery stressed that the place of launch is not the issue, because those who reject the coup will internationalize their cause in any place, at any time.

"Egyptians abroad are supporting the Egyptian Revolution legally and politically… ERC was established by Egyptians abroad to bring together all Egyptians from all countries of the world, and will be a major factor in ousting the military junta.

"Egyptians abroad are a flame of hope in achieving real progress in Egypt… Most Egyptians refused to visit Egypt this summer for fear of state repression, tyranny and lawlessness."

Separately, Ayman Abdel-Ghani, The FJP’s Youth Secretary, praised the inauguration of ERC as a concrete step towards the toppling of the military junta in Egypt.

In a post on his Facebook page, Abdel-Ghani said: "The ERC launch by Egyptians abroad complements the endeavors of popular resistance at home, and supports revolutionary action in the media and human rights, as well as economically and politically… The Revolution Continues".
