Freedom and Justice Party Studies Election Law; Supports Palestinian Cause Fundamentals
The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Executive Office held a meeting Thursday to discuss developments in the Egyptian political arena. It reviewed proposals for amendment of the law that will regulate elections of the House of Representatives (Egypt’s new lower chamber of parliament – which used to be called “The People’s Assembly”). The meeting also discussed developments in ongoing national dialogue sessions.
The Executive Office further discussed FJP leader Essam El-Erian’s recent statements to the media regarding Jews who had once emigrated from Egypt. Dr. Erian affirmed he was expressing personal views that do not necessarily reflect the FJP’s official discourse.
Moreover, the FJP’s Executive Office assured full support for the Palestinian cause and commitment for fundamental issues and principles that safeguard Palestinians rights.
