Ghozlan: MB Will Not Instigate Talks With the US
Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood denied any talks took place between the US and MB. However, he said in statements to Ikhwanweb that the Brotherhood is "willing to conduct any dialogue with the U.S. administration on the condition that this is based on a measure of equality, mutual respect and commitment to non-interference in Egyptian affairs."
"Despite all the claims that certain meetings took place between officials from the Brotherhood or from the ‘Freedom and Justice Party’ and between U.S. officials, this talk is all untrue. We do not know the reasons behind these allegations," Ghozlan told Ikhwanweb.
The Brotherhood’s media spokesman also said that “the dialogue is between two completely different parties,” in response to questions about the possibility of a dialogue between the U.S. administration and MB, despite all the group’s criticism of the U.S. administration for its blind support of Israel and the negative indirect interference in the Arab revolutions.
