Gov’t anti-siege committee: Lifeline to enter Gaza by Tuesday night
Hamdy Shaath, head of the government committee to break the siege, asserted that the international aid convoy Lifeline-3 was expected to reach the Gaza Strip late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
In a press release Shaath announced that solidarity activists were arriving in El-Arish airport Latakia airport as the cargo ship was unloading the relief aid at El-Arish harbor. The entire convoy’s entry depends on the Egyptian authority’s permission, he said.
However several sources at the Rafah crossing reported to PIC that differences between state security and intelligence led to the closure of the terminal. They noted that officials from both agencies accepted bribes to allow passage priority to numerous Gazan citizens while delaying patients and other passengers.
