Gov’t committee against siege slams Egypt for not allowing in lifeline-2

The government committee for breaking the siege on Sunday denounced the Egyptian authorities for barring humanitarian convoy lifeline-2 led by British lawmaker George Galloway from entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing.

In a statement, the committee said that Egypt must assume its leading role towards the Palestinian people and contribute to the alleviation of their suffering instead of blocking humanitarian aid from reaching the besieged Gaza people.

It pointed out that the convoy is carrying vital humanitarian needs for non-governmental organizations providing services to citizens and helping different social strata.

The statement appealed to the Egyptian authorities to allow in the convoy as soon as possible and without hindrance.
