Gov’t Intimidates Lawyers to Vote For Its Candidates in Syndicate Elections

Less than 48 hours before the second round of the Lawyers” Syndicate elections, the government through its powerful State Security Apparatus in Qalyoubeya governorate summoned lawyers to pressure them to vote for the incumbent Sameh Ashour for Syndicate Chairman position, and Hussein El-Gammal, ruling party”s candidate


This step comes after the first round, which resulted in major victory for Refat El-Zedan,  the Islamic Sharia candidate in the governorate.
 
Refat El-Zedan stressed to Ikhwanweb that despite all government”s attempts, lawyers are rallying around in the Islamic Sharia candidates, and will not be intimidated by pressure.
