Hamas: Ban Ki-moon remarks on Palestinian missiles biased
The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has strongly condemned on Friday the statements of Ban Ki-moon, the secretary-general of the UN, in which he deprecated the Palestinian retaliation to Israel”s aggressions on the Palestinian people.
Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, the spokesman of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, described Ki-moon”s remarks as biased against the Palestinian people, and contradicting laws and conventions of the United Nation, which he represents.
“We in Hamas strongly condemn the statements of Ban Ki-moon against Palestinian [retaliatory] missile attacks on Israeli occupation targets. Such statements makes him a partner in the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people”, underlined Abu Zuhri in press release he issued and a copy of which obtained by the PIC.
He also questioned Ki-moon”s passive stand towards the scores of Palestinian citizens murdered by the IOF troops, in addition to his suspicious position vis-à-vis the repressive Israeli economic blockade against the 1.5 million Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Zuhri added that Ki-moon”s statement contradicts the international law that he supposedly represents as international law gives the people under occupation the full right to defend themselves with all available means till the occupation ends.
Moreover, Abu Zuhri accused Ki-moon of trying to portray the Palestinian people as the aggressor and, at the same time, exonerate the Israeli occupation and displaying it as the victim.
Never the less, Abu Zuhri stressed that Ki-moon”s remarks wont affect his Movement”s determination to defend the Palestinian people, and to confront and block any Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
