Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has reached a deal with Egypt over restoring order to and control over Egypt-Gaza borders, said the top leader in the movement Mahmoud Al-Zahar in statements to the Qatar-based AlJazeera TV channel.”In order to fix the borders, Hamas will work with Egyptian authorities to seal off border breaches carried out out in a border wall ten days ago”, said Al-Zahar.

The Hamas top leader said that Hamas will order these breaches sealed and that work for this purpose will start on Sunday. He also ruled out that any European or Israeli side will take over any responsibility in running the Rafah border crossing.Al-Zahar gave these statements following his trip to the Egyptian capital Cairo where he took part in talks over this issue with Egyptian officials.
For his part, Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman, has stressed earlier that the movement has reached a staged deal with Egypt ordering the formation of a committee that supervises a limited crossing of people and commodities through the Rafah Crossing.”This measure will be temporary till Rafah crossing is officially opened”, said Barhoum
