Hamas sources: Calm agreement to be announced within two days

The Hamas delegation led by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar left Cairo Saturday night heading for Damascus to consult with the Hamas leadership on latest calm agreement talks.

The delegation members had conferred with Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman on the calm agreement. Delegation sources said that a final and “honorable” calm agreement could be announced within two days.

Media sources in Cairo said that the Hamas delegates are expected to receive the Israeli responses to Hamas queries delivered through Egypt. The delegates are expected to return from Damascus with a final decision on Sunday night and the announcement would be on Monday or Tuesday.

Zahhar is heading a delegation grouping Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, Nizar Awadallah and Taher Al-Nunu. The team members had left Gaza for Cairo at noon Saturday.
