Hamas strongly denounces IOF shooting at school

Hamas condemned the Israeli occupation forces” shooting at a Palestinian school for girls in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, that wounded a child and inflicted material damage.

Hammad Al-Ruqub, Hamas”s spokesman in Khan Younis, said that the IOF never really adhered to the calm agreement but was always violating it.

He charged that firing at a school for children during classes and wounding 15-year-old Aziza Qudaih, pointed to the IOF “evil intention of harming and terrorising our children, which affect their educational march”.

Ruqub called on all parties to re-evaluate the calm agreement and to adopt measures to preserve the country”s interests. He also championed pressuring Israeli occupation authority to bow to the calm conditions.

For its part, the armed wing of the popular resistance committees said that any extension of the calm is unacceptable at present unless with resistance”s conditions.

Abu Yusuf, the armed wing”s spokesman, said on Monday that it was pre-mature to speak about any extension of the calm, adding that Palestinian resistance only accepted calm out of respect to the Egyptian mediator, who brokered the truce, and out of keenness on ending the Gaza siege.

He noted that the IOF did not abide by the conditions of the calm despite the resistance faction”s absolute commitment to it. “Any renewal should be coupled with ending the siege and opening all crossings”, he stressed.
