Hamas welcomes EU call for lifting siege on Gaza

DAMASCUS, — Hamas movement on Tuesday welcomed the European Union’s new position calling for an end to the Israeli siege on Gaza Strip and opening all land crossings and sea routes to and from the Strip.
Hamas said in a statement commenting on the EU decision that the new EU stand was a positive step toward ending the siege.
It affirmed that the opening of the land crossings and sea routes should be comprehensive and permanent in accordance with new preparations and mechanisms that would ensure full safety and freedom for the movement of individuals and goods to and from the Gaza Strip.
