Haneyya: The road to break the siege is through stabilizing the calm with Israel

GAZA, (PIC)– Ismail Haneyya, the premier of the caretaker government, stated Wednesday that the road to break the siege and to achieve the national interest are through stabilizing the truce between the Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and extending it to the West Bank.

During his meeting with the minister of justice, the attorney general and a number of prosecution deputies and judges, Haneyya hailed the positions of the Egyptian mediator, urging him to make more efforts to end the Israeli siege and to open the Rafah border crossing permanently under Palestinian-Egyptian control in coordination with the concerned parties.

The premier reiterated his call for a comprehensive national dialog, noting that signs of defeat and disappointment have started to appear on those who worked against the interests of Palestinian people.

In another context, the premier disclosed a plan still being studied by the government to pull down the security complex dubbed “Al-Saraya”, saying: “We will work on removing this building which has been representing oppression and injustice in the Palestinian people”s memory since the occupation and also became unfit for use.”

The premier underlined that there is no one single political prisoner in Gaza and all prisoners arrested either because of criminal activities or of different issues unrelated to politics or factional conflicts.
