Human Rights Center Demands Detained Brothers to be Released

By Muhammad el-Shreef

Egyptian Sawasya Center for Human Right appealed to the Justice Minister, who is the president of the Supreme Election Commission, to help setting the detained Muslim Brothers free. The center also urged political parties and operative powers to take up their responsibility pertaining to human rights enhancement.

In its report, the center condemned the arrests of the representatives of the Brotherhood’s candidates, who run for the third round, terming them as overt effort to terrorize voters; an action which is unconformable to a constitutionally granted right of vote.

The report added that these repressive measures explicitly breach both the World Declaration of Human Right and the article 9 of the International Convention for Political and Civil Rights.
