Human rights organizations criticise Shura elections irregularities
Human rights asserted that the injustices and harassments began even before Election Day where the Muslim Brotherhood was prevented from campaigning freely with the ripping and confiscation of banners and posters in addition to the continued arrests and detention of supporters and followers
Monitors documented the irregularities as voters were being turned away from polling stations
One man, a representative of a Muslim Brotherhood candidate, was shot by police as he tried to enter a polling station
The Brotherhood asserted that it will continue its call for peaceful reform and modifications of the constitution stressing that its resolve has not been affected.
