Husband of liberated prisoner killed in an Israeli hit and run accident

Mohammed Erzeikat, 24, a Palestinian worker from Al-Khalil district, was killed in Netanya on Monday morning when an Israeli settler ran him over then sped away.

Erzeikat married his cousin and former prisoner in Israeli jails Suad Erzeikat only eight months ago after she was released in mid 2009 after serving 24 months in jail on charges of working for Hamas movement.

A close source to Erzeikat said that he was working with a relative in Netanya and that he was hit while passing the zebra crossing.

Hamas described Erzeikat as the “martyr of sustenance” who was compelled to work in 1948 occupied Palestine due to financial problems.
