ICM Welcomes New Kuwaiti Cabinet

The Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) welcomed the newly-formed government and called for firmly applying law and to focus on promoting development and providing services for the Kuwaiti people .
The movement said in a statement it issued:” We welcome the new cabinet-line-up and we congratulate the Prime Minister and ministers on the trust and support of the Amir of the county; the Islamic Constitutional Movement confirms in this respect that the new method adopted by the Prime Minister of expanding consultations and increasing contacts with the parliamentary blocs and political powers is a positive method that leads to an important political stage all of us hope that it continues according to the course of reform and transparency that he started in the former government; the ICM pointed out that this method should be supported by the MPs of National Assembly and civil society institutions .
The movement ended its statement saying “attaining a bright future for Kuwait to restore its ambitious and cultural development requires that the government lay down a clear and practical plan with an accurate and specific timetable, and requires that the Assembly continues implementing the priorities that have been previously approved within an atmosphere of cooperation and understanding to realize Kuwait”s interests.
For his part, Dr. Badr Al Nashi, the secretary-general of the Islamic Constitutional Movement, told Ikhwanweb that the ICM defined, as much as the cabinet line-up consultations are concerned, a clear attitude: that the movement does not object to asking any Kuwaiti to participate in the cabinet.
Al Nashi pointed out that the ICM believes that all Kuwaitis want to serve their homeland regardless of their social or political affiliation; the ICM adopts the constitutional instruments which MPs can use when they spot any wrongdoing or when the cooperation between both powers is obstructed; we hope that the ICM attitude will contribute to new positive political rules which may be important for the stage of reform and development that awaiting Kuwait”.
“We, in the ICM, aspire to a shining future for Kuwait based the spirit of cooperation among all political powers to achieve the required development and to help us extend our hands to cooperate with the government and Assembly to help the country implement its citizens aspirations ” Al Nashi added.
Concerning the most important priorities that the government should focus on at the time being, Al Nashi said that priorities of the coming stage should include:
-Firmly applying law and realizing its supremacy over all.
-Achieving justice specially in the system of appointing leaders,
-Controlling and documenting exceptional cases in the ministries
-Giving focus to development in education, health , reform and service facilities, topped by the municipality and state properties.
