Ikhwanonline readers, “continued State of Emergency in Egypt is a repressive measure”

Users of Ikhwanonline, the Muslim Brotherhood’s official Arabic website, participated in a survey concerning the State of Emergency in Egypt . The website’s poll took place from April 6 through to the 17th. Readers regarded the Emergency Law, which had been imposed in Egypt for over 29 years as a continuation of repression.

They expected that security intervention would increase with the approaching elections of the Shura Council and the Parliament.

The poll revealed that over ninety-six percent stressed that the emergency law repressed citizens; two percent believed it was necessary for independence and less than one percent were not interested.
