Interior Ministry defies release order of ill MB detainee adding to its already black list of human rights violations
Authorities have ignored the pleas of the family of Mohamed Anwar El-Deeb a MB detainee from Beni Suef who was arrested mid March. Despite recommendations by both the prisons hospital and the prisons administration for his release on account of his unstable health and additional orders for his release by prosecution El-Deeb remains detained
El-Deeb’s lawyers have reported that “the prison doctor was very upset about the health deterioration of El-Shami and informed the competent authorities of the situation”. They underscored that this is the case of many MB’s who have faced arbitrary arrests and kept detained indefinitely
The Interior Ministry had challenged the prosecutor’s decision and issued a decision to re-arrest him.
