International Forum for Muslim Parliamentarians Condemns Syrian Atrocities
The International Forum for Muslim Parliamentarians welcomed the increasing condemnations and pressure on the Syrian government for its human rights abuses and the atrocities it’s committing against its civilian population.
Joining the growing chorus of criticism is Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who summoned their envoys in order to further isolate the Syrian President for his crimes.
Forum’s chair Hussein Ibrahim issued a statement calling on the international community to increase diplomatic pressure on Assad, and support the Syrian people against its regime and demand the immediate end to the bloodshed and crackdown on innocent and peaceful protestors.
Ibrahim added it is imperative that political pressure be increased on Assad’s regime to halt its military operations against civilians and pro-democracy activists.
The statement ended calling on all Muslim parliamentarians to increase pressure on their respective governments in order to end the bloodshed and urge comprehensive reform in Syria
