Intisar Selim resigns and Omar monitors Parliamentary elections
Dr. Burhan Amrullah will become the new head of the Supreme Committee for Elections as of July 1st through to September 30th. The position will later be assumed by Chancellor Abdel Aziz Omar who will then become the President of the Court of Cessation and Head of the Supreme Committee for Elections come October 1st.
During the midterm Shura elections the Supreme Committee for Elections headed by Chancellor Intisar Selim was accused of many legal irregularities including the neglect of its legal and constitutional responsibilities and the lack of supervision leaving its responsibilities to the Ministry of Interior which resulted in the manipulation of the elections.
