IOA blocked call for prayers in Ibrahimi Mosque on 58 occasions in March

AL-KHALIL, — The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has banned the Adhan (call for prayers) in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil on 58 occasions over the past month of March, the Awkaf (Endowment) department in the city said.

It added in a press release on Sunday that the IOA prevented Muslims from entering the Mosque for payers on three days at the pretext Jews were celebrating their Passover.

The department said that the IOA barred the call for prayers for more than 200 times during the past few months at the pretext that it was annoying the Jewish settlers.

It noted that the procedure was coupled with stringent military measures on main roads and entrances leading to the Mosque.
