IOA confiscates 1700 dunums of Palestinian lands
The Israeli occupation authority has confiscated 1700 dunums of Palestinian lands in the Bethlehem district in order to annex them to the Efrat settlement, Hebrew press reported on Monday.
Daily Ha”aretz said that the lands were annexed to build 2500 new settlements units after expanding the settlement.
It said that the decision followed the so-called Israeli civil administration”s rejection of Palestinian objections tabled by owners of those lands.
Owners of those lands had appealed against confiscating their lands over a year ago but were met with rejection and ownership of the lands were turned to the Efrat settlement, which is part of the Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Bethlehem city and accommodates 9000 settlers.
