IOF round up 8 Palestinians, renew administrative custody of Jihad leader

JENIN, — Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed a number of villages and cities in northern West Bank at an early hour on Thursday that ended with rounding up eight Palestinian citizens.

The Israeli radio said that the eight were wanted for interrogation, adding that the large scale operation was particularly intensive in Jenin.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) renewed the administrative detention of Sheikh Bassam Al-Saadi, one of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad in the West Bank.

Family of the Sheikh said on Thursday that the decision was issued on Wednesday.

They noted that Sheikh Saadi has been held in administrative custody for seven years without any trial, and appealed to human rights groups to intervene to pressure the IOA into ending that kind of detention that ran contrary to international doctrines.

The home of Saadi, a father of two martyrs, was demolished at the hands of IOF troops.
