IOF tanks shell central, southern Gaza
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired tank shells at eastern Khan Younis, south of Gaza Strip, and Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza, at a late hour on Tuesday, local sources said.
They told the PIC reporter that the shelling followed the Palestinian resistance’s engagement of an IOF unit that sneaked into the area.
The sources said that the IOF fired at least 10 tank shells that all fell in agricultural land with no casualties reported.
The shelling was coupled with over flights of IOF helicopter gunships to give cover for the withdrawal of the unit.
For its part, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, the Quds Brigades, said that its fighters detected the IOF special forces and clashed with them.
