IOF troops violently quell demonstrations in Ramallah, Nablus districts
RAMALLAH, — Israeli occupation forces (IOF) used force to quell a demonstration in Laban village, Ramallah district, on Saturday that was organized in protest at the killing of a young woman at the hands of a Jewish settler.
The IOF soldiers wounded a boy in his leg and beat up another in the confrontation between the soldiers and schoolchildren of Abud school that organized the demo.
The soldiers used rubber bullets and teargas canisters to disperse the demonstrators, locals reported.
Samar Radwan, 21, was killed when a settler in a speeding car ran over her on the bypass road near the village on Friday.
The IOF troops quelled another march in Irak Burin village, Nablus district, also on Saturday that hit the streets to protest the confiscation of their land.
Local sources said that many of the demonstrators, including foreign solidarity activists, were treated for breathing difficulties after the IOF troops used teargas in abundance along with rubber-coated bullets to disperse the crowd.
IOF soldiers killed two children in the village last month during a similar protest march.
