Iraqi MB Calls for Cooperation, Alliance of Iraqi Political Blocs
Congratulating the winners of the municipal elections in Anbar and Iraq in general on behalf of the Iraqi Islamic Party (MB in Iraq), Dr. Omar Abdul-Sattar Al-Karbouly, Member of the Iraqi Islamic Party”s Political Bureau and MP in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, called on the winning political blocs to consider cooperating and allying to lead Iraq towards a bright future after it had been destroyed by violence requesting that the next four years be prosperous and constructive for all Iraqis.
“We have no red lines regarding alliances with anyone provided that there be a willingness on their part in forming these alliances with more than party and in more than one governorate,” Al-Karbouly said pointing out that discussions had begun on this matter before the announcement of results and even before the elections.
Al-Karbouly further explained that based on the election results, the Islamic party can carry out allied work throughout the current and upcoming years affirming that the results will redraw the political map in Anbar and Iraq as a whole as well as push it further towards work, construction, and development.
Al-Karbouly hailed what he called the “distinguished experiment” with peaceful circulation of power in Iraq and Iraqis” ability to overcome the tribulations and violence due to sectarianism and throw them behind their backs. “The door in front of them now is wide open to work, construction, and development free of past clashes,” Al-Karbouly said.
